Arrive in Oaxaca. Take authorized transportation from the airport to the Hotel TBA—welcome reception at the hotel.
Breakfast at the Hotel (everyday) – Enjoy festivities on the streets of Oaxaca during the day — Visit to the cemeteries of Xoxocotlan; experience the music, costumes and festivities of the day.
Visit Santo Domingo Church and Regional Museum—experience the festive comparsas on the streets, with wild costumes, parades, and music. Visit the Oaxaca city cemetery at night.
Tour the famed ruins at Mitla; return to Teotitlan del Valle, famed weaving center, and visit the home and shop of Bulmaro Perez Mendoza; stop at the famous Tule tree; and finish the day’s activities with a visit to the cemetery at Tlalixtac de Cabrera, for a real appreciation of the meaning of Muertos.

Visit the Ocotlan valley with stops at Jacobo and Maria Angeles’s word carving museum and shop in San Martin Tilcajete; visit our dear friends, the Navarro family in Santo Tomas Jalieza, with their elegant backstrap weavings and other art; visit the remarkably colorful cemetery at San Antonino Castillo Velasco as they have their Day of the Dead celebration.
Visit the dramatic archaeological site of Monte Alban; return through the pottery center of Santa Maria Atzompa; and finish the day in the center of Oaxaca, visiting the Cathedral and other sites around the Zocalo. Despedida, or farewell dinner, a restaurant to be announced.

Based on double occupance – single supplement $450. Price includes seven nights double occupancy room at the Sierra Azul; breakfast every day; one major meal daily; tickets to the Guelaguetza; all tours including admission charges and services of a guide where needed. Not included is airfare from the United States and return, and transportation from and return to the Oaxaca airport. A $300 per person non refundable deposit will hold your place in the program.
