Breakfast at the Sierra Azul (everyday) – leave for the Sunday market in Tlacolula—visit the archeological site at Mitla—dinner at Rancho Zapata—visit Tule tree on way back to Oaxaca—evening free to stroll around nearby Zocalo
The first Lunes de Cerro—will attend the Guelaguetza, the Americas’ greatest folk dance festival, held in the amphitheater at the Cerro Fortin—dinner at Tierra del Sol restaurant.
Guided tour of archeological site of Monte Alban—visit ceramic center of Atzompa– main meal at La Biznaga—wander down Alcala, the andador turistica—happy hour at the Sierra Azul in the evening.
Visit Textile Museum, Cathedral, downtown market – light lunch on your own in the Zocalo area – dinner at Los Danzantes
The Friday tour to the Ocotlan Valley featuring visits to some or all of the following: the MEAPO (museum of popular art) in San Bartolo Coyotepec, the wood carvers in San Martin Tilcajete, the weavers in Santo Tomas Jalieza, the market and museum in Ocotlan—despedida with special invited guests at Azucena Zapoteca.

Based on double occupance – single supplement $450. Price includes seven nights double occupancy room at the Sierra Azul; breakfast every day; one major meal daily; tickets to the Guelaguetza; all tours including admission charges and services of a guide where needed. Not included is airfare from the United States and return, and transportation from and return to the Oaxaca airport. A $300 per person non refundable deposit will hold your place in the program.
